California Trip

Vince and I took a great trip to California with my sisters Ann and Jess and their husbands Kenta and Erik. It was such a fun trip and a great way to celebrate graduation! Here are some pictures! (Just a very few of the many we took).





These are picutres of Nyx on the way to California for our big summer trip. She slept pretty much the whole way and found so many ridiculous positions I just had to document them. So there you go.

Vince and I petting deer at the San Diego Wild Animal Park. It was fun. One buck kept rubbing his horns up against us. It was funny....you had to be there.


The Lorikeet house was fun. As soon as we walked in one of them landed on my head. I didn't even have to pay $3 for nectar!

This is the Friday night Dodger game we went to. After the game they had fireworks and we got to sit on the field and watch them. That's Dodger grass you see there!

We left Nyx with Vince's dad and brother, Mac, while we were gone and when we got back she seemed SO much bigger. I took this picture to compare with the earlier ones we took in the car. I don't know if you can tell but she seems at least three inches longer. Just for a reference, when we went to her first vet visit she weighed about 8 pounds and three weeks later she was almost 16 pounds! She almost doubled in 3 weeks! It's insane.

NYX!

We got a dog! Sorry it's slow in coming. We got her April 15. She's a lab/golden retriever mix but they think that there must be rottweiler blood back there somewhere because she's brown with tan rottweiler markings. Her name is Nyx. It's the name of the Greek goddess of night. We're not like Greek mythology geeks or anything, we just wanted a girl name that's not too girly and that seemed to work. So now you know! This picture is the day we got her when she was six weeks old.

Sounding Off?

Right now my wife is at school and I'm waiting to go to work, so of course I feel like talking to myself. I thought you should listen. Since we have a blog now, I can sound off on whatever I want with little to no consequences (as long as I keep flexing)...or at least thats what I hope. Bailouts to butterflies, Islamic fundamentalism to ice-cream fondue, and Mexican drug cartels to milk-duds, I can talk about whatever I want. But honestly, I don't really have anything to say right now. I think that most of what is happening with government is laughable (then again, my favorite source for news is The Onion), most of what is happening in my life is mundane (I read, try to work, and eat (thats why the antitheses in my list generally revolve around food))). I'll be back sometime. Have a good day.

This is our first attempt to take a picture of Rooty. She was kind of freaking out and when Vince let her go she left him with welts across his wrists and mats of hair on his clothes. Apparently Rooty is camera-shy. But it made a decent picture.

Waiting and Decisions

So this is the time we use to wait. Wait for school to be over. Wait for me (Rachel) to get a job. Wait for law school to start. Wait to get a puppy. Wait to get a new car. Wait to have a baby. In the mean time Vince still gets to decide where to go to Law School. We have moved from "maybe BYU" to "probably BYU" so it's progress. I graduate in 4 weeks and a couple days and I couldn't be more excited. It doesn't help that after I graduate is when we get a puppy. That's almost more exciting than graduation. But we are enjoying our bunny, Root Beer (Rooty). Those are the big happenings in our lives. So now you know.
